Bottle Stoppers
Each bottle stopper I create consists of two pieces; 1) a stainless-steel stopper with rubber “O-rings”, and 2) a one-of-a kind piece of turned stock.
All the stoppers shown here are made from pieces of stabilized Buckeye Burl from the same piece of turning stock, cast in resin, turned to shape and polished to accentuate the beauty of the wood, including any naturally occurring voids in the burl.
However, simple bottle stoppers can be turned from any hardwood and made to shape and size. I try to keep the cost of simple stoppers to a minimum by turning them from small pieces of scrap material left over from other projects (as opposed to the more artsy stabilized burls cast in resin, as in the examples shown above). These simple hardwood stoppers are finished and polished to a high sheen.
The stainless-steel stopper hardware is available in two sizes (large and small) and three shapes (cone, droplet and bullet). The examples above are cone and droplet. The one on the far right is an example of the large stainless-steel cone stopper. It measures 2.75 inches long, while all the rest are small stoppers measuring 1.75 inches.
Every Bottle Stopper comes in a velvet gift bag suitable for gifting.
PRICE:
1) stabilized woods cast in resin are $30 – $40 depending on size (length of turned stock)
2) hardwood stoppers are $15 – $25 depending on the size and shape of the turned stock
Schedule Timeframe: negotiable, depending on quantity, but not less than 4 weeks from date of order.
