Ice Cream Scoops
ce cream scoops come in a couple of styles. There are two characteristics of an ice cream scoop that distinguish a quality scoop from the rest. First is the paddle/scoop itself. Some have a hawk-like point that easily cuts through ice cream (see the silver scoop shown here). Others have a more paddle-like scoop meant for use on softer ice cream to make ice cream scoops for cones and sundaes.
Second is the handle. The ice cream scoops I make are not dishwasher suitable because I use dense hardwoods for the handle and finish them to a high sheen.
All the scoops pictured here include handles turned from Cocobolo stock.
Pricing: $25 to $35, depending on the scoop selected
